Trucker Wise — Privacy Policy

Trucker Wise is an iOS app developed by Mingtu LLC that helps truck drivers keep their books and prepare the records they need at tax time. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information when you use Trucker Wise. Trucker Wise is built with a zero-server design: the data you enter stays only on your own device and in your iCloud.

Data you enter in Trucker Wise is stored in only two places: on your device, and in your own iCloud private database (CloudKit private database). Mingtu has no server to receive this data and is technically unable to access, read, or recover your app data.

Trucker Wise requires no registration or login and does not collect your name, email, or password, and does not collect your SSN. The name and company name you enter in the app's Business Info are stored only on your device and in your iCloud, and are used to generate the header on your reports.

Through CloudKit, Trucker Wise stores the following on your device and in your own iCloud private database. None of it is uploaded to any Mingtu system:

• Bookkeeping records: income, expenses, and categories
• Trips and mileage: the total mileage for each trip
• Receipt photos: images of receipts you capture or select
• Business Info: name and company name used for report headers
• Tax settings and records: tax profile details such as filing status, your per diem day log, and tax set-aside entries

Receipt photos are stored only on your device and in your own iCloud, and are never uploaded to Mingtu.

When you record a trip, Trucker Wise reads GPS to calculate mileage. Route points while driving exist only in memory and are never written to disk. The app saves only the total mileage for each trip; it does not save or upload your route.

To improve the product, Trucker Wise records anonymous feature-usage events (a whitelist of events) via PostHog — for example app opened, trip created, or report exported — along with the app version and device OS version.

• These events contain no user identifiers and cannot be linked to your identity
• No session replay and no autocapture
• They never include your bookkeeping data, receipts, location, or any personal information
• They are never used for advertising and never shared with third parties for marketing

The only way data leaves your device is when you actively tap Export or “File with Mingtu,” and you send the files yourself through the iOS system share sheet. The handoff bundle sent to Mingtu contains the P&L PDF, CSV data files, and a subscription stamp, never receipt photos. Your own export, made for your own records, can optionally include receipt photos and likewise leaves the device only when you share it yourself. Nothing else is transmitted off your device automatically.

Trucker Wise subscriptions are handled through Apple In-App Purchase, with transactions completed entirely by Apple's StoreKit framework. Mingtu never touches any payment information. For details on how Apple handles your purchase information, see the Apple Privacy Policy.

Trucker Wise includes an “Erase All Data” feature that lets you permanently delete all of your data at any time, including the iCloud copy. Uninstalling the app clears the local data on your device, but the copy in your iCloud remains and is restored automatically if you reinstall; to delete everything permanently, use “Erase All Data” before uninstalling.

Trucker Wise is intended for adult drivers working in freight. It is not designed for children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

If we make material changes to this policy, we will notify users through an app update. Your continued use of Trucker Wise constitutes acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
